I have worked with Carson on multiple projects, and I can say without hesitation that he is truly exceptional. His craftsmanship, attention to detail, and professionalism set him apart from every other builder I've worked with. Carson approaches his projects with thoughtfulness and precision. We've relied on Carson at Custom Carolina for years. He's completed at least a half dozen major projects for us, including a complete remodel of our beach house. Carson is reliable, honest, and meticulous. The biggest problem with remodeling a vacation house is that you can't be there to monitor progress day to day. With Carson, you don't need to be there, because he does everything right and doesn't cut corners. He's creative, resourceful, honest, and finishes on time - hands down the best prime contractor I've ever used.

When a hurricane took the deck and boardwalk to access the beach from our beach house, leaving a precipitous drop to the beach, we called Carson immediately. He responded immediately due to the dangerous situation as we expected renters in the near future. Carson had done work for us in the past and we trust him. My husband and I met with Carson and explained what kind of deck we wanted built on the back of the house. We wanted a deck to cover an old patio and extend from the french doors in the living room to the back door of the house. He had some great suggestions about the layout of the deck and stairs. The deck turned out great and Carson was great to work with during the four days it took to build the deck.

He came out to do a quote quickly and sent the quote when promised. He showed up to do the work as scheduled and provided a very high quality product. Carson was great to deal with from start to finish. I’ve come back to Angies List to leave a review because I found him on this site and wanted to share my experience with you so you can benefit from my high recommendation like I did from the other reviews. I thought his price was very fair (lower than others I got) and not only did he quite the job but he and a helper did the work. This wasn’t a deal where one guy quotes the job and someone else does the work. I give him my highest recommendation.

I have remodeled 5 homes and built one. With all my experience with contractors and subcontractors, I have never found one as reliable as Carson. He has helped my family with repairing older beach homes for the last three years. We have hired Carson to do a lot of jobs. He has completed all of them in a timely manner, using salt water resistant materials that will stand the test of time, and the end product demonstrates excellent craftsmanship. He helps us make decisions from 200+ miles away, staying on budget but producing excellent results. We haven't had to stress about overseeing the job as Carson treats our house as his own. We are beyond thankful for him, his team, and his attention to detail. My great grandfather built one of the homes in the 1950's and its withstood many Hurricanes. I'm so thankful that Carson can carry the tradition of excellent craftsmanship to our special place. As for specifics of this job, he built beautiful shiplap in our den, repaired our deck, replaced a rotten support beam with plumbing and electrical running through it, and painted our porch and deck. He did an incredible job.

This is the most recent of many projects by Custom Carolina Construction, and once again they exceeded our expectations and Carson knocked another home run for us with his skilled craftsmanship. He built a custom mantle and trim around our fireplace. Also measured and installed custom cabinets. And he built custom crown moulding in master bedroom with Led lights glowing behind the crown to create a unique ambiance. He also wrapped the rest of the home with beautiful custom crown moulding. He hung all new custom doors throughout entire home. This company is proffessional, punctual, experienced, and family owned. You can find his craftsmanship in Better Homes and Gardens Magazine, Charleston magazine, and many others. I highly recommend and encourage everyone to use this company for their next renovations.

Carson did an AMAZING job! Even with the hurricane he managed to finish the deck quickly without sacrificing quality. I got quotes from five different companies. Carson's was the most fair by far. Carson, responded to our call very promptly, he came by our house the same day and gave us some options on the repair. The next morning he sent us a text with the price. We asked him to schedule the job and he said he could start the following Monday to set new posts and reattach the fence on Wednesday. He kept us informed throughout the job and was always here when he said. The job was well done. Carson is very professional. We will definitely use him again for any other projects we need done.

The crew 'set up' yesterday, and arrived early this morning. They demo'd the old deck, hauled it all away, built new one from the ground up, installing new stairs, handrails all around, and roofed it all. Did a great job, and even stored the leftover materials for me. They were quiet, skillful, respectful - no cursing, yelling or horsing around, and did wonderful work. AND cleaned up well after themselves, not a scrap of trash left from their work. Very professional!!! Price was very fair, in that it included all materials, which were considerable.
